Travel

Paulo Coelho Travel Quote

The main objective of this blog is to inspire you to travel. This may not be the most travel centric blog that you may have come across, but I have tried my best to cover some great topics and inspiring travellers.

People have explored different ways of travelling around the world, By Road, Railways, Airways and Waterways too.

Why do we want to Travel? The word Travel sounds like "vacation" in your mind, isn't it? Well, some travel to find work in other countries, they just want to feel what is it like to work in other countries. Some travel to escape their daily routine. Travelling is a great stress buster. You meet new people, you can explore exotic locations, you can experience different cultures. It really opens up your mind and gives you a broader perspective.

I would like to start by showcasing some of the EXTREME travellers of the world.

The word EXTREME means reaching a high or the highest degree, something or someone that is far different from the rest.

Below are the travellers that really have some inspiring stories to share.

1. Felix, Sweden.

Felix the extreme traveller from Lund, Sweden

He is an extreme budget traveller from Sweden. He has travelled around the world on less than $10 a day. From a young age he always had a travel bug inside him. Like many other swedes do, he took a gap year to see the world, but wanted to do so without flying.

He started in Sweden and Cycled across Europe ( Yes, on a Bicycle ), Sailed from Europe to the Caribbean. He spent about 1 and a half year all around South America and the Caribbean and ended in Mexico. He then travelled to Canada where he spent around 1 month and flew to Japan, took a boat to Korea and another boat to Russia, took the train from Russia to Mongolia where he spent about 2 months and then he took the Trans - Siberian Railway through Russia to Moscow and from Moscow he took the Bus to Latvia and walked around 1000 miles way back home. It took him 80 days to walk.

In total he visited 32 countries by Walking, Cycling, HitchHiking, Buses, Trains, Boats, Canoes, Ferries, Taxi's & Motorbikes. Sometimes, he didn't shower for 2 months and he also got robbed once in Spain and 3 times in Peru ( Unfortunately ).

The craziest part of his story is, that he completed him Trip when he was just 22 years old. In the beginning he only spoke his mother tongue Swedish and some English. After the trip he can speak well in both Spanish & Portuguese and a bit of Japanese and Mongolian as well.

The real question that comes to your mind is, How did he pay for everything? How did he arrange the money? The answer is, he's the most expert budget traveller, he spent less than $10,000 in 3 Years. He slept on streets, he couch surfed, he worked odd jobs, like helping Yachts get through the Panama Canal, Apple picking in Canada, Fixing drainage systems in Bolivia, cleaning the Marina in the Canary Island, Babysitting in the Caribbean, Yak herding in the Mongolia and currently working as a Dog sledding guide in Svalbard, taking tourists on trips.

2. Peter, Slovakia

PPPeter from Slovakia

He graduated college with a Finance degree but after 6 months of being in the Corporate world, he realized that his passion lied in Comedy and Travelling. He took a risk, cut his salary and became a video maker on YouTube.

Now, What is so extreme about Peter? Well, this guy just enjoys living life on the edge. HE always had this fascination for countries that most people don't know about like, Mauritania, The Gambia, Benin, Burkina Faso. So, over the last 2 years he went to these countries and started filming the most bizarre things possible. In Mauritania he jumped on a train across the Sahara. In Benin he bribed the police officers with giant snails ( It worked! ). In Cameroon, he was caught in the middle of a civil war. which according to him is the single most scariest moment of his life.

But, one story that had him almost in his death bed was in Togo, he got a severe case of Malaria and ended up in a run down hospital in a small town of Togo and there was no one to take care of him, he was sweating yellow sweats and 10 times more nauseous. According to him, Coartem 80/480 tablet could have saved him from Malaria. He recommends to carry this tablet when travelling to African continent.

Nowadays, Peter has turned his bizarre lifestyle into a career and is also the author of the bestselling book in Slovakia. The title of his book is "Kde Vsade Som Zomrel" which translates to "All the places that he didn't die". It's about the most extreme stories that happened to him during his travel, He has a popular show on National Tv and an ongoing partnership with Red Bull Slovakia.

3. The Goy's Family, Canada.

The Goy's Family Wanderlusters Canada

This lovely family is on a amazing trip to cover a quarter of the world. They plan to visit 50 Countries in 15 months. I know how tedious it is to plan long trips ( as a solo traveller ) and I could only imagine doing it for 4 people, not to mention, the patience they have to constantly watch over a 9 year old and a 7 year old.

So, how did they manage to come up with the money for such a long trip? They were saving  alot since they started working and invested in Real Estate and now this family sold everything back home to go on a 15 month trip to 50 countries. The Goy's use all sorts of travel hacks to minimize their expenses, it took them 6 months to collect a million points on their credit cards and three months worth of hotel stay ( i.e; 16 credit cards ) and they homeschool their kids on the road. They estimate the total cost of their trip to be less than $70,000.

They started in Iceland, then went to Europe, then to Middle East, then Asia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu, Japan, Europe, North Africa and then Canada.

What inspired them to take this trip? they say the routine was very bad, and they had this project to travel around the world since a long time, they were just waiting for the right opportunity.

Thumb Life Daniel

He is spending his life hitchhiking around the world.

From Mexico to Croatia to France, this guy literally relies 100% on the kindness of others to pick him up on the side of the road and take him to where he wants to go. He was recently stranded in Albania due to COVID-19 and had to come back to the U.S., but if there was no pandemic happening, then he would be heading all the way to Vietnam. That's about 8,200 kilometers!

Daniel has such an inspiring story that i know you will enjoy too! Follow his travels below :

In all honesty, we have only seen 4 traveler's out of the 1000's of inspiring traveler's out there.

We have been seeing people speak about the popular countries and fill us with most of the informations about them. But, even there are most of the countries that very few have visited and gathered some great experience.. Let's look at some of those countries below :

The total surface area of Earth is about 197 million square miles (510 million square km). About 71 percent is covered by water and 29 percent by land. Subtracting the uninhabitable area from the total land area leaves 24,642,757 square miles of habitable land, which means roughly 300 people per square mile.

When you read this, you will feel there's not much more free space available in the world, when we see some crowded places, for eg; Singapore or Hong Kong or India where roughly 6,000 people share every kilometer. However, there are many places in the world where you will find complete opposite, like NAMIBIA, MONGOLIA, GREENLAND, AUSTRALIA & SURINAME.

Below, we will look in detail 2 of the world's least densely populated countries :

1. Namibia :

Namibia African Continent

Namibia is more than twice as large as California, but has just 2.5 million residents. That means only 3 people are living per square kilometer and every inch of land there is incredible.

Windhoek is the Capital City with excellent Beer and delicious Food. The coastal city of Swakopmund, which has strong German ties, is certainly not to be missed. It's one of the only places on earth where you can see Ocean waves crashing into huge sand dunes and don't forget Etosha National Park where you can get a taste of Africa's most incredible wildlife

2. Mongolia :

Mongolian city

With just over 3 million people a majority of the landmass is unoccupied. The best thing to do in Mongolia is to venture into the Gobi Desert. There, you will find no shortage of National Parks, Open Road, Amazing Wildlife and tiny monasteries

Least visited country :

1. Tuvalu :

Let's look into it Step by Step :
